Sports Council (NSC) is planning to organise a capacity building exercise for
sports stakeholders across the regions, the Council’s Executive Director Marcel
Mendy has told this journalist.
The capacity building training, he said will start with Banjul from 23rd to 25th March which will be followed by other regions.
He said participants will be trained in the areas of monitoring and evaluation, proposal and report writing.
Mr. Mendy is hopeful that the training will also improve the leadership skills of the participants and enlighten them on their roles and responsibilities in different sports structures. “They will also be trained on problem solving and decision making. The participants will be drawn from the regional sports committees and sports associations in the respective regions.”
He said Ebou Joof, former Permanent Secretary at the sports ministry; Lamin Sanneh, former governor; Cherno Barra Touray and Abdoulie Faye will be the resource persons for the trainings.
