Sport House Basketball team was last Saturday crowned champions of the 6th edition of late Pa Modou Sarr Memorial Basketball Tournament.

Sports House beat YMCA 32 points to 29 in the extra five minutes of play after the four quarters of the game ended in a par in a well-contested final game, played at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium Basketball Lawn.

The champions and runners-up, Sport House and YMCA went home with attractive prizes

Speaking to reporters shortly after the game, the Head Coach of YMCA, Foday Singhateh said, "the referee made them lose the game as the referee awarded their opponents a foul," which he added, really spoiled their game.

"Taking part in the memorial basketball tournament means a lot to us because the late Pa Modou Sarr was a player for YMCA Basketball team before he went to America," Singhateh said.

Muhammed Sarr, player/coach of Sports House said he was glad with his team's victory over YMCA.

Mariama Sarr, a sister of the deceased, said the tournament was sponsored by great friends of the late Pa Modou Sarr.
