Football Academy under 18 scouting tournament is set for June 10 to 20 at the
Independence stadium in Bakau. The scouting process will feature ten academies
out of which eight will come from The Gambia and two from Senegal.
Songdeh football academy, Youth Alliance Kanifing (YAK) football academy, Sanyang football academy, Latrikunda Sabiji football academy, Serrekunda East football academy, Banjul football academy, Old Jeshwang football academy, Manjai football academy, Cheman sports football club and Banlien academy will participate in the scouting tournament.
Organiser of the scouting tournament Paul Joof, who doubles as the founder and director of Songdeh Football Academy said the tournament is restricted to only players not registered in clubs, adding that teams are selected from various zones.
He said registration for the scouting tournament is free for all participating teams, saying scouters will be coming from nine countries across Europe and one from the United States of America.
He urged players to give their best during the scouting process, noting that the success of the scouting will determine whether to continue staging the tournament or not. “Two games will be played each day at 9am and 11am respectively, and the tickets for the scouting tournament is pegged at D25.
