Solidarity with Muslims in Malaysia and all affected human beings

Jul 8, 2014, 8:58 AM | Article By: Imam Tafsir Gaye

I wish to begin where I shouldbegin by calling on the name of Allah to bear witness to our common concern, and further allow my heartto speak totheears and hearts of all those who are touched bythe sudden disappearance of flight No: MH 370on8th March 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,toBeijing with 239 people, much to the consternation of all human beings on the face of the earth.

After being inflicted by overwhelming grief, there is need to find consolation in the following revelation about Allah the Almighty in Sura AZ- Zukhruf V. 84:

“It is He who is God inheavenand God on earth . And He is full of wisdom and knowledge.”There is no mechanism that can see Allah the Great, but He is the only One Who can see all creatures.

Sura AL- An’am V.103 buttresses this fact in the following words: “No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is overall vision; He issubtle well aware.”

Sura AL Nisai V. 171 makes it clear that we could find solace in Allah by stating among other things that “…To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a disposer of affairs.”

Sura AL An’am V.101 puts it very clearly that Allah is the “Wonderful originator of the heavens and the earth…He created all things andHe has full knowledge of all things.”

As the most sophisticated equipment have so failed to detect the whereabouts of the aircraft, let usall be reminded that each and every creature wherever it is on earth, or in the sea, as small as an atom’s weight, is under the gaze of Allah the Almighty.

Sura AL An’am V.58 -59 says: “With him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knoweth. He knows whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge. There is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered) but is (inscribed) in a record clear (to those who can read).”

Allah the Almighty states in Sura AL Muzzammil V.9: “Heis the lord of the East and the West. There is no God but Him. Take Him therefore for (thy) Disposer of Affairs.”

Whenever scholars think they know everything, the Almighty comes with a happening that they wouldn’t have any knowledge of. An example is the disappearance of the Malaysian flight. The Almighty will make them worried, till the time He wants to make these scholars know where the aircraft is.

Sura AL Baqara V.255 stares: “ No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on the earth. Who is thee can intercede in his presence except as he permitteth? He knoweth what appeareth to (His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall theycompass aught of his knowledge except as He willeth...”

Hence if humanity fails to grasp certain things they should not lose hope .They should accept their limitations.

Sura Banni Israel V. 85 states: “…of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you.”

Prophet Yunus, one of the prophets, had a problem; a fish swallowed him. Then He (Yunus) knew that the Almighty who owns the seas is his only savior. Then he prayed in Allah’s name to be saved from the fish.

Sura AL Anbiyaa V.87-88 states: “And remember Zun-nun, when he departed in wrath; he imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the depths of darkness. “There is no God but Thou: Glory to Thee: I was indeed wrong!”

“So we listened to him: and delivered him from distress: and thus do we deliver those who have faith.”

Sura an’am V. 63-64 Says: “Who is it that delivereth you from the dark recesses of land and sea, when ye call upon Him in humility and in secret. If He only delivers us from these (dangers). (we vow) we shall truly show our gratitude?”

“Say: It is Allah that delivereth you from these and all (other) Distresses: and yet ye worship false gods.”

Allah is the safeguard who can save anyone who has problems on earth and in the sea.

Allah does not consult anyone. He, the Almighty decides anything He wants. If he takes advice from anyone, it will bring Him down, and He, Allah, is above all and everyone. Sura Anbiyaa V.23 states: “He cannot be questioned for His acts, but they will be questioned (for theirs).”

Sura Fusilat V.53: “Soon will We show them Our signs in the (furthest) Regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the truth. Is it not enough that Thy Lord doth witness all things?”

The happiness and sadness in every human being is from Allah. He is the one who gives and takes away.

Sura Al An’am V.17-18 states: “If Allah touch thee with affliction, none can remove it but He; If He touch thee with happiness; He hath power over all things.

He is irresistibly Supreme Over His servants, and He is the wise, Acquainted with all things.”

Allah wants us to obey Him, surrender to Him, pray for our needs. He is the only one who can answer our prayers.

Sura AZ- Zumar V.54 states: “Turn ye to your Lord (in repentance) and submit to Him, before the chastisement comes on you: After that ye shall not be helped.”

As many family members continue to live in agony and distress, I ask all those who couldturn to Allah the Almighty for redress of their sadness to do so. I call on the Muslim leaders in Malaysia to propose a universal day of prayers for the victims and their loved ones, and solemnly request for the creator’s intervention.

This would enable humankind to find a solution to the mystery surrounding the disappearance of the aircraft. This would further show the world that Islam is a religion of peace and solidarity.

Sura Al Imran V. 18 states: “There is no god but He: That is the witness of Allah, his Angels and those imbued with knowledge, standing firm on justice. There is no god but He the Exalted in Power, the Wise.”

In Allah we should put all our trust, and we would find a solution to all mysteries.
