Skye Bank Gambia, a leading commercial bank in the country on Wednesday 25th October commissioned its new state-of-the-art west field branch adjacent to the Alvihag Super Market.
The Bank, a subsidiary of Skye Bank Plc started operations in The Gambia in July, 2009 as part of the regional expansion strategy of Skye Bank Plc. The Parent Bank based in Nigeria is a large financial services provider in West Africa designated as one of the Systematically Important Banks by the Central Bank of Nigeria. It also has subsidiaries in Sierra Leone and Guinea Conakry.
Skye Bank Gambia has successfully developed its business and penetrated the market in Corporate Banking, Consumer Banking, Public Sector, Retail Banking, and exports segment in The Gambia. It has expanded from its Head Office in Kairaba Avenue to a branch in Banjul and now in Westfield with other locations in view.
The MD and Chief Executive Director,Doyin Adegbulugbe,in his opening speech said Skye Bank is a service oriented. He said the strategic focus of the bank is to bring its exceptional banking services and financial solutions to the people hence the opening of the branch in Westfield with others that will follow in due cause.
This is a state-of-the-art Branch located at the heart of Westfield to give our customers the banking convenience they deserve. I believe with this Branch we are making a statement in the Gambia banking industry with clear indications that we are a bank focused on customer satisfaction,” he said.
Also speaking at the colourful opening ceremony, one of the Bank’s Directors, Abdoulie Mam Njie, said the bank is not only committed to providing excellent financial services and solutions to the Gambians but also passionate about contributing to national development as a responsible corporate organization.
“As a bank that’s committed to creating memorable experiences, we are excited at how comfortable and happy we have made our customers and we will continue to ensure that our customers gets the excellent service and best in-class financial solutions that they deserve,” he said.
Impressed with the ambience of the branch, he thanked the Management and staff of the bank for what he called a job well done.
The Executive Director of the Bank, Bode Ifabiyi conducted the guests round the facility to the pleasure and admiration of all. He said the bank will be giving out gifts to the first 100 customers to send and/or receive Western Union, Ria and Moneygram in the branch.
Customers of the bank present at the event said they were impressed by the impeccable services of the Bank and the classy feel of the new branch. “I am incredibly excited and immensely grateful to Skye Bank for providing us the enabling environment for seamless banking and financial transactions,” a longtime customer of the bank said.
The Bank’s Chief Finance Officer (CFO), Cherno Cham,also expressed gratitude to the customers for choosing the bank. He closed by promising that the bank will keep raising the bar of service delivery in the country.
The guests were treated with sumptuous meals and serenaded with a beautiful Skye Bank themed song rendered by a special team and lead by the Head of Human Capital Management and Corporate Affairs, Funmi Akano.She thanked all Skye Bank’s customers and informed them that the bank will be always be there for their needs.
