Serrekunda West has been banned from playing their home matches in the 2019 Super Nawettan zonal football championship, according to the organising committee of the country’s community biggest football fiesta. The West side boys are banned from playing their home match at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium next year after stoning on assistant during their clash with Serrekunda East last Sunday. The Super Nawettan Organising Committee has also fined Serrekunda West D20, 000 for their behaviour during their game with Serrekunda East. The incident at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium started after central referee Maudo Jallow awarded a penalty to Serekunda East in the 90th minutes in which an unidentified fan suspected to be Serrekunda West threw stones that hit the match assistant referee causing injury on his head, when Serrekunda East was leading the tie 2-0. Abdoulie Manneh netted twice for Serrekunda East in the 76th and 85th minute of the match respectively to inspire East boys to the quarterfinal against debutants Jarra and Kiang (JAKU).
