SK East eliminates JAKU to reach super Nawetan last four

Serrekunda East Super ‘Nawetan’ team on Friday beats Jarra and Kiang United (JAKU) in the ongoing 2018 Simlex’s and Gambia Football Federation’s (GFF) sponsored Super Nawetan competition game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The East boys beat debutants JAKU boys 4-2 on post match penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regulation time in the quarter final match played on Friday to progress to the semi-final.

The East boys got their goal in 2nd minute of game through prolific striker Abdoulie Manneh following a perfect free-kick by Modou Lamin Colley.

East boys missed a spot kick through Abdoulie Manneh in the 33rd minute of the game, when JAKU custodian Musa Ceesay brought down Omar John in the eighteen yard box.

Jarra and Kiang United (JAKU) leveled the scores through Musa Drammeh in the 57th minute to cancel Abdoulie Manneh’s first- half strike thus leading the game into penalty shoot-out which ends 4-2 in favuor of the East boys.

Meanwhile Serrekunda East will host city boys, Banjul in the second semi-final to be played today at the Independence Staduim in Bakau at 4:30. 

Meanwhile, Brikama beats Manjai 1-0 in the first semi-final played at the Independence in Bakau yesterday to sail to the final.

Lamin Badjie scored the lone goal for the game for the Seteba boys in the 70 minute of the game.
