Gambia (SJAG) said they are saddened by the demise of the country’s former
football coach, Peter Bonu Johnson.
The former Gambia national team player and coach passed away on Sunday at age 56, after battling a long illness.
In a statement signed by the SJAG secretary general Alieu Ceesay, the country’s sports Journalists described Mr. Johnson as a true friend of the media who was always open to journalists on matters relating to football. “On behalf of the President of the Sports Journalists’ Association of The Gambia (SJAG), Musa Sise, we join the rest of the world to pay tribute to Bonu for his service to the country, football in particular.”
The Association state that as Mr. Johnson’s family undergo a difficult moment, they also extend their condolences to them and pray that God grant him Paradise.
