The Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia (SJAG) have begun training in preparation for their upcoming international friendly game against the Senegalese Sports Journalists Association (ANPS).
The match coincided with the 10th edition of SJAG Sports Awards and Gala Night to celebrate and award past and present sports personalities who have done so much for the country.
This will be the third meeting between the two sides. ANPS first defeated SJAG 1-0 in Banjul and SJAG also beat them on the same score-line in a game played at the Complex Sportif Dakar Sacre-Coeur last December.
Foday Jatta of Teranga FM scored the game’s only goal in the 10th minute after a wonderful shot outside the 18 yard. This game which will be played on Friday 18 April at the FIFA Goal Project in Yundum, is aimed at strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two associations.
Assistant coach of SJAG Pa Barrow said preparation is in high gear and ANPS will be coming to The Gambia to get revenge after they beat them in Dakar, last December.
He said the game is not only about playing football but also to strengthen the already existing relationship between SJAG and ANPS.
