Serrekunda derby in GFF 2nd Tier Today

Serrekunda East will today rub shoulders with Tallinding United in the all-Serrekunda derby fixtures of the 2013-2014 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) second division league, at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Serrekunda East are struggling in the country’s second tier and will be fighting for a win to move from red zone as well as maintain their hopes of gaining promotion to the top flight next season.

Tallinding United are mid-table after managing to secure a vital victory against Seaview. They will be searching for a win against city-rival Serrekunda East, who are currently struggling in the second tier.

Sait Matty will clash with Serrekunda United at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.

Sait Matty, a household name in the country’s division league, have been unable to establish themselves since the start of the league early March 2014. They would seriously go all out to win against Serrekunda United to maintain their dreams of regaining promotion to the top tier.

Serrekunda United have made a flying start to the country’s second tier, having been winning their games in grand style, and are unbeaten since the start of the league in early March 2014.

KGI will play against Seaview at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium. KGI are mid-table and are hoping to bounce back after losing to Seaview in their week-five fixtures in mid-week to secure a good position on the league table.

Seaview are unbeaten since the start of the second division in early March 2014 and have been winning their games in spectacular style.

They therefore hope to maintain their superb run of form in the league to stand a better chance of regaining promotion to the top tier after their shock demotion to the second tier last season.

Lamin United will host Young Africans at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Lamin United are mid-table and hope to bounce back after losing to Serrekunda United in their week-five clash on Monday at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Young Africans were relegated to the second tier following their dismal performance in the top tier last season.

They are currently leading the second division league table and will be expecting a win to extend their lead at the top of the league table.

Elsewhere, the West Coast Region outfit Bombada United will welcome Blue Star at the FIFA Goal Project in Old Yundum.

The West Coast Region outfit are currently doing extremely well in the second tier, as they won their previous games in extraordinary styles and are also yet to taste the bitterness of defeat since the start of the league in early March 2014.

Blue Star are currently languishing at the relegation zone and will be looking for a win against West Coast Region outfit to fancy their chances of staying in the second tier next season.
