Senior Scorpions continues flop in AFCON qualifiers

Tuesday, September 11, 2018

Gambia national senior team is still flopping in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after their 1-1 stalemate with Algeria at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Saturday.

The Scorpions are currently occupying second-place from bottom in Group D of the qualifiers with only 1 point after two group matches and three points behind group leaders Algeria and Benin, who have both secured 4 points each in two matches.

The Gambia must beat Togo both home and away, Benin at home and Algeria away to fancy their chances of making their debut in the continent’s biggest football fray.

The Scorpions have never qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations since its inception in 1957.
