Second Infantry Battalion are leading the 2018-2019 Gambia Football Federation
(GFF) second division league tier following their 2-0 win over the Lions of
Banjul, who were leading.
In the week-three fixture played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium last Thursday, the visiting Soldiers netted two goals to earn an unbeaten run in their debut season in the country’s second tier.
The Banjul club has earlier won their two opening matches while Second Infantry beat Serrekunda East Bi 2-1 in their opening league match played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
Red Hawks hammered Immigration 4-0 at the Brikama Mini Stadium while Serrekunda East defeated Gunjur United 1-0 at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
The victory earned Second Infantry Battalion 6 points with a game in hand against Red Hawks.
The defeat left Lions of Banjul with 6 points in three league matches after losing to Second Infantry Battalion. Serrekunda East Bi are also gripping 6 points from three matches and Red Hawks with 3 points with a game in hand against Second Infantry Battalion.
Gunjur United secured only 1 point in three league matches after losing two and drew one match.
