Wednesday, June 12, 2019

Gambia’s senior national team; Scorpions will entertain the Atlas Lions of Morocco in an international friendly today at the Stade de Marrakech in the Moroccan former imperial city of Marrakech, at 6:30pm Gambian time.

According to information, today’s match will be shown in one of the Moroccan channels on Nilesat (Arryadia 3).

The Scorpions have been away since last week in Marrakech, where they are scheduled to play two international matches against Morocco and Guinea Conakry, who are managed by former Scorpions head coach Paul Put.

Both the Sylli Nationale of Guinea Conakry and the Atlas Lions of Morocco are using the international friendlies as part of their preparations for the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Egypt while the Scorpions will use the matches to build and strengthen the team for the 2021 AFCON qualifiers and World Cup 2022, after failing to make it to Egypt.

The Scorpions first sting the Syli Nationale of Guinea 1-0 in their first two scheduled international friendlies played in Morocco, last Friday.

Midfield maestro, Ebrima Sohna scored the lone goal of the game in the 40th minute just 20 minutes after he was introduced in the first half of the game, replacing injured Sal Jobarteh.
