Scorpions move two places up in the latest FIFA rankings

Gambia have moved two places up in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola Men’s rankings despite not qualifying for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

A reflection of 150 to 163 games played across the globe during the international period, the FIFA rankings saw The Gambia with an increase in total accumulated points from 994 to 1002.

The Scorpions, who are with 1002 points has now moved from 163 to 161, just two places at the top in the latest ranking. They were ranked 163 position in the World rankings last month and now moved up two places after securing a total point of 1002 to occupy 161 position on the latest rankings released on 14th of June 2019.

The Scorpions benefitted from the latest ranking points after winning two of their international friendly matches against Guinea Conakry and Morocco this month.

The Teranga Lions of Senegal still maintain top spot after securing 1, 515 points in FIFA rankings, leading the likes of Tunisia (1, 501), Nigeria (1, 433), and Morocco (1, 429) amongst others. The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 25 July 2019.
