Scorpions arrive in Algiers today for AFCON Qualifiers

Gambia national senior team, Scorpions will arrive in Algerian capital, Algiers today Thursday for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Algeria on 22 March, according to news reaching The Point Sports desk.

The Scorpions earlier had a four-day training camp in Morocco to prepare themselves fit enough for their weekend crucial fixture with the Desert Foxes. The match will be played in Blida tomorrow Friday, an hour drive from capital city Algiers.

Head coach Tom Saintfiet said Algeria have already qualified for the continent’s bi-annual biggest football fray after banging 10 in five group matches.

He said the Scorpions need a victory and hope Benin loss to Togo to make their first-ever appearance in the Africa Cup of Nations after grabbing 5 points in five group matches.
