Saudi Arabia gives 4530 cartons of sacrificial meat to Gambia gov’t

The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Islamic Development Bank, Friday November 17, 2017 donated 4530 cartons of sacrificial meat to the Government of The Gambia.

Receiving the cartons on behalf of the minister of Foreign Affairs minister, Demba Ali Jawo, the minister of the Information and Communication Infrastructure, expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Saudi government and the Islamic Development Bank for the gesture. He assured that the gesture will benefit the less privileged throughout the country.

“It is without doubt that we will further strengthen the bilateral ties and Muslim solidarity that exist between the two countries,” he remarked.

Minister Jawo used the opportunity to assure the Government of Saudi Arabia of the continued support of The Gambia under the leadership of His Excellency, President Adama Barrow.

Mr. Abu Zeyad, a representative of the Islamic Development Bank, said he was delighted to preside over the handing ceremony and prayed for Allah’s blessing and guidance on The Gambia and her leadership.

The occasion was graced by Permanent Secretary II, Ms Saffie Sankareh including other senior staff of the Foreign Ministry.
