Community Association under Ding Ding Yiriwa Federation, an affiliate of ChildFund
The Gambia, last week donated medical supplies to Sanyang major health center
in Kombo South district.
The donated materials, which include a sterilizing machine, plasters, bandages, cottons and medicine, worth over 150, 000 dalasi. The donation was made through the support of a Netherland philanthropist.
Ding Ding Yiriwa Federation manager Alieu Mendy thanked the Netherland philanthropist for the support, saying it is part of their duty as a Federation to see the improvement of the country’s health sector.
He said the Federation does not only focus on educational and other assistance to its enrolled children but also extend health programmes to community health centers, including medical supplies to improve their services. “We are appreciative of the support. It should be every citizens’ duty to promote the welfare of our health sector,” he said.
Board chairman Lamin Sanneh said the donation will no doubt help in the smooth execution of the facility’s operation and the provision of quality service to people.
Abdou Colley, assistant officer in charge of the health center thanked the donors for their timely contribution towards the improvement of the health sector. “We are very glad to receive this highly valuable equipment. They will help in the improvement of our work to provide good service.”
