Salikenni holds annual Gamo on Saturday

The annual Quranic recitation (Gamo) of Salikenni village in Central Baddibou, North Bank Region is slated for Saturday 3rd March 2018.

It will be held under the auspices of Sheikh Alhaji Omar Ceesay – a renowned scholar. The Gamo attracts hundreds across The Gambia and beyond who usually gather at his compound as well as the central mosque of Salikenni to seek prayers.

Sheikh Alh. Omar himself will lead the recitation of the Holy Quran and start a conversation on the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammeh (SAW) on Thursday the 1st of March 2018, after the arrival of guests. It will be followed by another Quranic recitation on Friday the 2nd, to observe prayers for the ummah.

Sheikh Alhaji Omar is a Mauritania-Saudi trained Islamic scholar. He graduated from the University of Riyad in Saudi Arabia in 1978 and has since then dedicated his life to the teaching and propagation of Islam in The Gambia and beyond.
