Monday, August 27, 2018

Head coach of The Gambia Senior National team Tom Saintfiet will today 27 August unveil his squad for the crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at home to Algeria at the Football House in Kanifing East Layout.

The Scorpions will host the Desert Foxes in their decisive continent’s biggest football qualifiers on 8 September, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Coach Tom Saintfiet will be hoping to select a formidable squad that will face the North African giants for a place in the continent’s most prestigious bi-annual football fray.

The Gambia must beat Algeria on 8 September in Banjul to increase their hopes of qualifying for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Cameroon after losing away to Benin 1-0 in their opening group D match played in Cotonou last year.

Algeria, on the other hand, is currently topping group D with maximum 3 points after one group match following their 1-0 home victory over Togo in the opening match of the qualifiers played in Algiers last year and would hope to consolidate both their position and points with a win.
