I write to inform the general membership of the association that Mrs Sainabou Kujabi-Njie has handed a letter of resignation from the post as President of the Sports Journalists Association The Gambia, with immediate effect.

In the letter written and addressed to the secretary general, copied to executive members on Monday, 01st December 2014, Mrs Kujabi Njie said:

“I write to tender my resignation as president of the Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia with immediate effect. This is due to maternal reasons as I want to dedicate more time to my children. I thank everyone for your trust and confidence in me over the period and hope to continue serving as a member of the Sports Journalists Association of the Gambia.”

Sainabou’s resignation has come somewhat as a surprise but we wish her the best of luck for her endeavors. We thank her for her relentless service to the SJAG over the years in various capacities.

In the meantime, the SJAG executive in Banjul and subsequently the general body will meet in the coming weeks to decide on the future head of theassociation.
