Saibou T. Suso elected as ACTIVISTA-Gambia chairperson

Saiba T. Suso has been recently elected as the National Board Chairperson of Activista-The Gambia after going unopposed in his nomination by the general membership.

The long serving volunteer with a vast knowledge of experience has over the years served Activista-The Gambia in various capacities. His most recent position was the Activista support training coordinator.

During his victory speech, Saiba expressed gratitude to the members of the General Assembly for electing him as their new leader for the next three years.

He promised to promote equity amongst members of the network and create space for members across the country to partake in the developmental processes.

Some of the other members of the board are: Fatoumatta Saho, Vice Chairperson; Baboucarr Sufism Nyang Al-Tijani, Treasurer; Muhammed MS Bah and Awa Barrow as Board members.

The election was presided over by Lamin Mokendeh Darboe, National Youth Council Executive Director and was observed by Muhammed Lamin Saidykhan, African Rising Coordinator and the former Activista Coordinator.

Activista The Gambia is an Action Aid global youth network that have been engaging young people to realise their potentials and actively participate in decision making processes that affects their lives.

Furthermore the Network has also engaged a lot of communities to advocate for justice in the issue of women land Ownership, youth political participation among other important issues affecting the lives of the ordinary citizen.
