Monday, November 05, 2018

Former secretary general and minister of Presidential Affairs, Momodou Sabally, will speak at a major conference of young people around the world at the Egyptian resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh earlier this week.

The event, which is dubbed “World Youth Forum”, is expected to engage youth from all over the world in an enriching set-up, allowing them to express their views and recommend initiatives for decision makers and influential figures.”

The conveners of the summit envisage the forum to be a great chance for youth to engage with high-level policymakers as well as build strong networks with promising youth from every background and part of the world, who are determined to create real change in the world we live in today.

Sabally’s speech will centre on cultural competence and how young people can appropriate their cultural heritage in a dynamic way to foster peace and prosperity in a fast evolving world. His paper for the conference seeks to draw inspiration from the stone circles of Senegambia and his own youth empowerment foundation, Sabally Leadership Academy’s budding cultural entrepreneurship experiment, the SLA Cultural Choir.
