Rotarians celebrated their 38th Annual Gala Dinner and Dance at the Kairaba
Beach Hotel recently.
President of the Rotary Club of Banjul, RTN Oba Moshood K.B. Abolade, who doubles as the King of Yoruba community in The Gambia presided over the Gala Dinner and dance.
The ceremony was well attended by corporate bodies, families of the Rotarians, guests and other rotary clubs in The Gambia.
In his welcome remarks, the president of the Rotary Club of Banjul, RTN Oba Moshood K.B Abolade, said the club is non-profitable Organisation and was chartered in 1979 and since then the club has been contributing to the well-being of the society in terms of education, health and social development.
According to club President Oba, the proceeds from the Gala Dinner would be channelled into the establishment, operation and maintenance of a Diabetic foot care project at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital Banjul.
The club also honoured some of the members who had served and are still serving humanity and also corporate bodies that have been supporting the club in their laudable project were also given certificates.
The star prize for the GALA dinner and dance, which was the Banjul to London ticket, was donated by Gambia Experience and many prizes were won at the GALA.
