Minister of Health and Social Welfare Saffie Lowe-Ceesay, Monday received medical equipment worth over 8,299 Euros donated by Rotarian Cheryl Currie and Lyndon Currie from the Rotary Club of Lemongton in the United Kingdom through the Rotary Club of Fajara.

The equipment including a 2X ECG machines and 2X Vital spot check monitors were handed to the health Minister for onward transmission to Edwards Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul.

Minister Lowe-Ceesay said the equipment was badly needed in the country for a long time, saying they would go a long way in complementing the hospital’s services. “We are grateful to the donors for the gesture. This is not their first time of donating medical equipment.  These are brand new machines that are needed especially now when we are trying to accredit the hospital.”

Minyan Jobe, Rotary Club of Fajara assistant governor said Rotarian Currie is a friend of the Chosan Foundation, saying the equipment are donated to complement health delivery system.
