Red Scorpions clinches Women league title

Red Scorpions have been coroneted as champions of the 2018-2019 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) women first division league after playing a goalless stalemate with Gambia Armed Forces in their final game at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Saturday.

The Old Jeshwang-based outfit were awarded with medals and a giant trophy and a cash amount of D150, 000 after securing 37 points while Interior FC received D100, 000 as runners-up after capturing 31 points. Abuko United received D50, 000 as third-place holder.

Red Scorpions coach Chorro Mbenga expressed delight for winning the national league title and described her side’s title as great success.

The game was witnessed by the president of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Lamin Kaba Bajo and executive members of the federation.
