Red Hawks are aiming to rejuvenate their lead in the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation second division league when actions resume in the country’s second tier today, Thursday 8 December 2016, after  the observation of December 1 presidential polls.

The Hawks FC feeder team will host Blue Star in the week-four fixtures at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium, and will hope to beat Wellingara-based outfit to rejuvenate their lead in the second tier after winning their three opening league fixtures.

Blue Star are struggling in the second tier after losing their three opening league fixtures, and will target to defeat Red Hawks to move away from the red zone.

Lions of Banjul will welcome relegated side Wallidan in the all-Banjul derby fixtures at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

Wallidan are among the teams contending for promotion to the top flight next season following their demotion to the second tier after woeful campaign in the top flight last season, and will strive to hammer Lions of Banjul in the all-Banjul derby clash to maintain their hopes of regaining promotion to the top flight next season.

Lions of Banjul, on the other hand, are also among the teams vying for promotion to the first division next season, and hope to bounce back in contention for promotion to the premier after losing to second-place Kexx in their last league fixtures.

Elsewhere, Brufut United will lock horns with Banjul United at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on the same day.

Brufut United and Banjul United are both among the teams competing for promotion to the first division next season, and will fight to trounce each other to keep their chances of gaining promotion to the first division.
