De Banjul Sunday thumped PSV Wellingara 2-0 in the week-eight match played at
the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium to secured top spot in the 2018-2019 Gambia
Football Federation (GFF) domestic division one league.
The City boys are third in the top flight league with 10 points and needed a win against the Wellingara-based club to top the league after bitter-rivals Wallidan drew 1-1 with Fortune at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Saturday.
They netted two goals in the match to surpass in the league with 13 points after eight league matches. PSV Wellingara are still flopping in the top flight with only 6 points in eight league matches.
Hawks defeated Tallinding United 1-0 at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium to land their first victory in the league while Samger drew goalless with Marimoo at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on the same day.
The win earned Hawks 10 points after eight league matches and Marimoo with 9 points in eight league matches.
