Real Sira's Suppliers F.C Crowned League Champions

Real Sira's Suppliers FC on Sunday emerged as the champions of the 2008-2009 Brikama Nawettan League following their resounding 3-0 victory over Chime United F.C in a keenly contested final played at Brikama Mini Stadium.

The league final encounter saw both teams put in brilliant performances in the first 15 minutes of the match. But as the game unfold, in later part of the match, Real Sira's Suppliers FC were totally in control ofthe game, that saw Mustapha Manneh open the score sheet for Real Sira'sSuppliers FC in the 35th minute of the match.

Chime United FC put up a strong comeback and created a lot of chances but could not capitalise on their chances and the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Real Sira's Suppliers FC.

As play resumed in the second half, Real Sira's Suppliers F.C continued to mount more pressure on the Chime United defence and thus registered their second goal in 64th minute of the game through Ebrima Kanteh who was also selected as the man of the match. Malang Ida Bojang sealed the victory in the 87th minute ofthe game after Chime United F.C defence were found sleeping and the game ended 3-0 in favour of Real Sira's Suppliers FC.

As the champions, Real Sira's Suppliers FC bagged a giant trophy and a cash prize of D20,000 whilst Chime United FC received D15,000 as the runners-up.

Speaking to Pointsports, shortly after the game the head coach of Chime United FC, Ousman Pascal Jobarteh, said he was impressed with the performance of his boys despite the fact they lost to Real Sira's Suppliers FC in final.

He revealed that he lost four of his key players who were on trial abroad and he said that his team has won the knock-out trophy and super cup and he expressed confidence that his team will clinch the trophy next year.

Edrisa Bojang, the head coach of Real Sira's Suppliers FC, thanked Brikama Youths and Sports Association [BYSA] for their valuable contribution toward the development of sports in Brikama particularly in football. He thanked Africell and Ecobank for sponsoring the league trophy.

He said that his boys deserved to clinch the league title. He commended fans for their support during the tourney and urged them to keep up momentum.
