Cup champions, Real de Banjul have announced that they will not be
participating in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Confederation Cup
The Banjul-based team made the announcement on their social media site saying that they could not meet the registration deadline for the CAF Confederation Cup due to the Administrative requirements of new CAF Club Licensing Regulations.
Real de Banjul acquired the ticket to participate in the CAF Confederation Cup tournament after winning the Gambian FF Cup tournament last season, following the defeat of Hawks FC in the final.
The club which is headed by Willy Abraham as President, started the season struggling under the guidance of Coach Majorr Saine but later appointed former player Musa Njie as interim coach.
Coach Musa Njie guided Real de Banjul to the FF Cup triumph, finishing the season in second position and as well clinching the Late Alhagie Omar Sey Memorial Football tournament after defeating Marimoo FC in the final.
