Real De Banjul on Sunday thrashed newly-promoted side Marimoo 3-0 in the week-five fixtures played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium to pile pressure on the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league.

The City boys and the Manjai-based outfit are both with 6 points in their three league games prior to their Sunday’s fixtures at the Capital biggest arena.

Real De Banjul made an astonishing start to the game as they outplayed and outclassed Marimoo and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities. And their efforts paid dividend in the 45th minute of the game when striker Yankuba Jarjue alias Torres netted the opener.

Striker Pa Modou Sohna notched in the second goal for Real De Banjul in the 48th minute of the game before striker Yankuba Jarjue alias Torres scored the third goal to complete his brace and also inspire Real De Banjul to their third win in the country’s top flight to mount pressure on current league leaders Gambia Armed Forces, who secured 10 points in five league matches.

Brikama United beat Bombada 1-0 in the all-Brikama derby fixtures played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium, to bounce back in contention for the country’s top flight title after losing to Hawks 1-0 in the week-four fixtures.

Striker Sainey Bojang was on the score sheet for Brikama United in the game.

Elsewhere, Samger drew goalless with Tallinding United in the other week fixtures played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.
