De Banjul and Hawks are the biggest casualties in the 2017-2018 Gambia Football
Federation domestic division one league season, after losing their opening
fixtures at the weekend.
Real De Banjul lost to Marimoo 1-0 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Saturday.
Hawks also slipped to Gamtel on the same score line at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.
The newly-promoted side Fortune FC came from one nil down to draw 1-1 with Brikama United at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Sunday.
Brikama United opened the scores through striker Ensa Badjie in the 11th minute of the game, after capitalizing on Fortune FC’s defensive blunder to fire home the opener for Sateyba boys.
Fortune FC responded with sweet attacking football but had to wait to level matters through substitute Modou Sanyang in the 71st minute of the game to share the spoils.
Newly-promoted Banjul United beat Bombada 2-1 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Bakau giant killers Steve Biko drew with Tallinding United in the other opening fixtures played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.
The current league champions Gambia Armed Forces will rub shoulders with Gambia Ports Authority today, Tuesday 21 November 2017.
