Gambia’s women Scorpions team will battle with Burkina Faso National women’s team tomorrow prior to the crucial 2019 Africa Women cup of nation preliminary first 1st leg qualifiers at the Burkina national stadium in Ouagadougou.

The queen Scorpions will brawl for an away win over their West African opponents on Saturday before finishing the tie in Banjul on Tuesday 10th April at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Speaking to The Point’s Lamin Gibba in a telephone conversation from Ouagadougou, Coach Mariama Boom Sowe said her charges are physically fit and prepared to face the Burkina side, adding that the team had a test game in Morocco which they lost 2-1 due lack of rest after arriving in Rabat at 2am.

Coach Boom Sowe accused the Moroccan referee of what she called ‘poor’ refereeing after awarding the home side an ‘unworthy’ penalty.

She said the team left Morocco for Burkina Faso on Wednesday and arrived Ouagadougou at 2 to 3am on Thursday, adding that the only worry now is Mamie Sylva who was injured but is currently under the care of the doctor.
