Prince Ward Development Committee discusses improvement trend

The councillor of Prince Ward in Upper Niumi in the North Bank Region has underscored the importance the ward development committee attaches to the progress of the ward, to enhance its sustainable development and livelihood improvement.

Amie Jobe was speaking on Monday at Kerr Alpha Upper Niumi at the ward development committee meeting to discuss the ward farm produce of 23 bags of millet and recent presentation of D50,000 by the Kerewan Area Council to the ward. She noted that the farm produce would contribute to complement ward development aspiration, noting that it would enhance the development aspiration and boost food production and productivity.

Prince Ward councillor thanked the people of her ward for their foresight and cooperation in the cultivation of millet farm, while calling her people to forget their political differences and work towards the advancement of the ward.

She said the development of the ward calls for the concerted efforts of all, as well as on development partners and NGOs to support the quest in accelerating development programmes and contribute to poverty reduction.

Sheikh Ann and Kebba Njie, ward development committee members, lauded the efforts of the ward councillor in promoting unity and development.

Prince Ward committee hailed the Kerewan Area Council for providing them with D50,000 to enhance development programme.

Abdoulie Joof of Prince, Yassin Jobe of Kerr Alpha and Babou Ceesay of Kerr Chebo, all echoed sentiments and assured of their resolve to promote good governance and accountability towards public resources.
