President Kovind departs Banjul today

Ram Nath Kovind, the president of India who was here on two-day state visit completed his two-day visit in The Gambia after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in key developmental issues to support The Gambia.

On his arrival in Gambia on Tuesday 30 July, 2019, he was welcomed by President Adama Barrow.

The long time champion of equitability in society and integrity in Indian public life, Ram on Wednesday handed over ISA instrument of ratification and had a press briefing at State House where he affirmed his government’s support in the areas of education, solar energy, medicine, training and good democracy.

Before assuming office as 14th president of India on July 25, 2017, President Ram served as 36th governor of the State of Bihar from August 2015 to 2017.

He was also counsel of union government in the Delhi High Court from 1997 to 1978.
