President Barrow leaves for China today

The Gambian leader is leaving Banjul this morning on a state visit to the People’s Republic of China.

Mr. Barrow in China will have a tete-a-tete discussion with his counterpart, the Chinese President Xi Jinping on issues of mutual interest. The two leaders are expected to talk about trade, transport, health and agriculture in which The Gambia needs China’s assistance.

President Barrow will also have a meeting with Chinese investors so as to encourage them to come and invest in The Gambia. He is also expected to meeting Gambians living in China especially students.

China’ interest about The Gambia’s Port, in terms of cargo handling is no secret and is determined to forge ties to improve the standard. Among other things, China is also interested is doing some road constructions for The Gambia.
