Policy Analysis Training For Disabled Ends

A two-day training workshop on policy analysis for the Gambia Federation of the Disabled and volunteers yesterday ended at the Voluntary Service Overseas' head office in Fajara.

The training brought together over 30 participants with the aim and objective of equipping participants with skills in policy analysis.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Sainey Camara of the Department of Social Welfare expressed sincere gratitude to the GFD and VSO, describing the training as timely.

"The protection and assistance interventions and development partners are less likely to achieve their impact if population of concern and consequences are treated sectorally and as an undifferentiated group," Mr. Camara pointed out.

He expressed his department's readiness to work hand-in-glove with the Gambia Federation of the Disabled in order to improve and promote the welfare of the disabled in the country. He urged the participants to make the best use of the knowledge gained from the training workshop.

For her part, VSO Country Director, Haddy Njie said the training workshop was meant to equip it members with skills.
