Police officer testifies in theft case

Sulayman Touray, a police officer attached to SerreKunda CID unit, recently testified before Magistrate Landing Sanneh of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court in a theft case involving one Modou Bah.

Officer Touray told the court that on the day in question, he was going home after he closed from work, when he met with officer Corr, who was escorting the accused person to the Serrrkunda Police Station.

He said  when he asked officer Corr about what happened, the accused  was carrying his belongings, and Corr told him the accused was caught stealing in his house.

Touray told the court that the destruction done by the accused in his house worth more than Thirty-five thousand dalasi, adding that when he arrived at his house he almost cried.

He stated that he then asked the photographer to take photos of the stolen items, which were later tendered and marked as exhibit without any objection from the accused.

The case continues.
