Pipeline Mosque Foundation extends support to 5 hospitals

Pipeline Mosque Foundation, a local charity on Thursday donated 500 bed sheets worth almost four-hundred thousand dalasi to 5 major hospitals in the Greater Banjul Area. The beneficiary institutions are, Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, Kanifing General Hospital, Tanka Tanka Psychiatric Hospital, Sheik Zayeid Regional Eye Care Center and Bundung Maternal Child Health Hospital.

At the presentation ceremony, Imam Mass Njie, on behalf of Mr Ahmed Diab, proprietor of Emporium, said the foundation for the past years has been rendering valuable support in the form of bed sheets to major hospitals in the country.

The foundation has earlier on adopted the mortuary at the Kanifing General Hospital as its main sponsor. And during a recent presentation, the foundation presented the sum of 15,000 to the officials for the daily upkeep of the mortuary.

Kebba Manneh, Chief Executive Officer of Kanifing General Hospital, recalled the long standing relationship that binds the two institutions, further assuring that the donated materials would no doubt improve health care services at the hospital.

Manneh acknowledged that this was not the first contribution from the foundation, informing that they have an ongoing project which is designed to support hospitals especially in the upkeep of their mortuaries.

Mariama Sarr-Ceesay, a member of the management board, said that people are good at making policies and initiatives, but was quick to state that they are not good at implementing and monitoring or rather evaluating humanity, which is a disaster.

Alh. Modou Senghore, vice president of the foundation expressed delight with the job they are doing as a team and further expressed appreciation to the members of the hospital board for their hard work.
