Papa Momodou Musa Njie, an independent candidate in the just concluded mayoral election in Kanifing Municipality has conceded defeat and congratulated all the winners.

“First, I would like to congratulate who conceded defeat in the recently concluded elections. You’re the people that serve as a great inspiration to me and to our great Gambia. Accepting defeat is an act of honour and respect.”

“To those who won, congratulations and I’m wishing you all a fruitful tenure in the office. I would like to implore all contestants who won to open up their arms for all Gambians, irrespective of their party affiliation, to have a sense of belonging in the way they’re to be governed and in the way resources are distributed.” “You don’t have to discriminate parties or individuals just because they were against you, our beloved Gambia do not need retribution. We need to continue the peaceful coexistence as we are known for all over the world.  Let the leadership preach peace and love; for it’s the only way to getting our Gambia to the promised land.”
