Papa Gassama to officiate Cameroon, Comoros AFCON qualifier clash

Gambian referee Bakary Papa Gassama will officiate the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match between Cameroon and Comoros on 23 March at Amadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé.

The country’s most decorated referee is been selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate group B decider.

 The three-time CAF referee of the year will be assisted by compatriot Abdul Aziz Jawo, Omar Darboe and Maudo Jallow respectively.

The encounter will be witnessed by Nigerian Referees Assessor Linus Ochechukwu Mba, match commissioner Oumar Diop of Senegal and Tunisian Secretary Khalid. Papa is also assigned to officiate the African Champions League matches. 

The match will kick-off at 7:30 PM local time and the Indomitable Lions are currently occupying second-spot in group B with 8 points after five group games. They will try to avoid a defeat against Comoros who are third position in the group B after five group outings.
