Papa Gassama to officiate Al-Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns clash

Gambian referee Bakary Papa Gassama will officiate the 2018-2019 CAF Champions League second leg quarter final encounter between the Egyptian side Al-Ahly and South African club Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend at the Egyptian Army Stadium in Suez.

The country’s most decorated referee is been selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to be at the center of this crunch match as he would be assisted by Senegalese Djibril Camara  and El Hadji Malick Samba as the 1st and 2nd assistant referees in a game that will be played on Saturday.

The 40-year-old Gambian is been given the tough encounter as Al-Ahly will be aiming to overturn a 5-0 deficit at home against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The three-time CAF referee of the year was also in-charge of the game between Al-Nassr and Al- Raed in Saudi Arabia in which Al-Nassr won 5-0.
