Gambia U20 striker Pa Sulay Njie has secured a move to Turkish TFF First League
The former youth prodigy was a free agent after leaving English side Cheltenham Town, where he was not much fruitful after spending most of his time on the treatment table.
The 26-year-old penned a one-year deal with Antakya-based club with an option to extend.
He came close to penning a deal with Danish side AC Horsens and Swedish club Motala AIF earlier this year but shunned the two clubs for Hatayspor, playing their trade in the second-tier of Turkish football.
Speaking in an interview, Njie expressed delights for signing for the Turkish club, noting that he had offers before coming here but chooses here because of their project and ambition, wanting to get promotion to the Süper Lig.
The former Stoke City youth player added: “It’s a good environment here. I have enjoyed it so far, the club is doing fine and I want to do well for them. I’m slowly recovering from my setbacks and I think the level here will help me get back up.”
The Gambian striker was one-time the most sought-after gem in English football in the 2006/07 season when he netted a decent amount of goals for both Hinckley United and Coventry City.
