Over D2M science, computer labs inaugurated

A modern science and computer laboratory worth over two million dalasis was last Thursday inaugurated at Saint Vincent De Paul Lower and Upper Basic Cycle School at Sanyang village, Kombo South District.

The buildings were sponsored by the late B.J. and family charity from the Netherlands who in the past years helped construct the school’s upper basic category.

In his remarks, the principal of the school Bambo Sanyang, expressed delight and appreciation to the donors of the project, saying the laboratories will avail students the opportunity to learn basic science technologies as well as better prepare them for their future.

He emphasised the importance of computer science teaching in schools and urged students to make best use of the laboratories.

He noted that the laboratories will be positively utilized in order to realise their purpose.

Father Mike, a representative of the Catholic Mission Secretariat of The Gambia urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the structure.
