One Dies, 22 Injured In Fatal Accident

africa » gambia
Thursday, August 27, 2009

Another fatal car accident occurred yesterday between the Brikama Nyambai Forest and Forato Village, claiming one life and leaving 22 others seriously injured when two vans, one coming from Serrekunda and the other from Brikama rammed into each other.

The deceased, believed to be an apprentice of one of the two vehicle involved, could not be named at the time of going to press because of the lack of identification.

The 22 injured persons were rushed to the Brikama Health Centre and later referred to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital in Banjul.

According to O C Jabang of the Brikama Mobile Traffic, over-speeding might have been responsible for the accident.

OC Jabang went on to advise the drivers to drive with care to safeguard life and property.
