defender, Omar Colley is fully sponsoring an inter-football championship called
‘Kabilo’ in Lamin, at the Sanna Jatta Memorial football field.
The football tournament will be commencing on 25th May 2019 and will bring together eight (8) teams across the seventeen wards in the Lamin.
According to organisers, eight teams out of possible 17 wards will be playing in the first edition. They said although Lamin have seventeen (17) wards, they have twined many of them and reducing the number to only eight.
Seven of the competing teams come from Lamin while the eighth team comprises of Daranka and Kerewan.
Registration to participate in the tournament is free and all expenses including refereeing and administration cost will be footed by Sampdoria defender, Omar Colley.
The Gambian skipper has dedicated the tournament to his fallen sisters Ya Ida Sanneh who was the mother of Jatta’s FC, a team in Lamin where he started his career and Haddy Colley, his biological sister.
According to Mr. Manneh, head of the organizing committee said there will be no restriction for divisional players in the tournament and it has already developed its momentum as to how the ‘Kabilos’ took ownership of the tournament.
