Ocean Villa Heights Hotel on Saturday held a reception party to celebrate the coming of President Adama Barrow and his era, at the hotel complex in Brufut.

The party was organised by the hotel staff to showcase their full support and solidarity with the new government under President Adama Barrow.

Paula Lancaster, speaking on behalf of the hotel proprietor, said the new era would encourage and motivate both local and international investors to invest in The Gambia.

‘’The time has come for us all to encourage investment in The Gambia, both foreign and domestic. We have a new Gambia born through the struggle and commitment of its people, and the world will soon recognise all that our beautiful country has to offer,” she said.

Mrs Lancaster said the Coalition 2016 campaigned and eventually triumphed, and gave the Gambian people the strength and confidence they needed to stand up and be counted among the comity of nations.

“We are under no illusion that this will be an easy road, but with hard work, commitment and renewed hope that the new government has brought to the country, we should all embrace this opportunity with open minds.”

The management and staff of the Ocean Villa Heights Hotel are proud to be able to continue to improve and develop the little hotel, and help showcase the diversity, beauty and enthusiasm of “the unique country”, she added.

Raffie Diab, Managing Director of R&A Company Limited, said he was obliged to come over and also celebrate with the Ocean Villa Hotel staff, because the victory was for the Gambian people.

‘’We have to celebrate, because we have been living in tyranny for 22 years under Yahya Jammeh,” said Mr Diab, one of the brains behind the #GambiaHasDecided popular message.

“I hope this will usher in a new hope for Gambians to use as an opportunity to reflect on what is needed to be done in the coming years. It is not going to be easy; we should be very patient, work hard and sacrifice for the best of our beloved country,” he said.

Ocean Villa Heights is a small growing boutiques hotel nestled on the cliff tops, enjoying a panoramic view over a deserted beach in Brufut.

With seven stylish fully air-conditioned rooms, including a stunning suite and family rooms, for business or pleasure, the hotel provides a serene spot for individuals and family members, as well as for those who want to make new friends.

The hotel also offers an extensive a la carte menu with al fresco dining, as well as a bespoke dining area, swimming pool, garden games and direct access to a pristine beach and VIP bantaba.
