striker- Nuha Marong has signed for the Spanish Segunda Division team, Racing
Santander FC after leaving Atlético Baleares.
The Spanish born to Gambian parents, who becomes the second summer reinforcement of the Green and White, signed a contract with Racing Santander until June 30 2023.
Nuha, who represented his country of birth, Spain in the U-17, 18, 19 and 20 levels represented The Gambia (Scorpions) in 19 March 2019 during Gambia’s game against Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The 191 rising striker, left the Atlético Baleares after scoring 13 goals this season and is aiming to refocus the Racing Santander squad and help the team to return to the LaLiga (Spanish Premier League)
During his unveiling, the sporting director of Racing, Chuti Molina acknowledged that he had known Nuha for a long time. “He was in the subsidiary of Elche and he left for Osasuna, but since then I’ve been following him closely.”
In addition, Molina highlighted the human values of the new striker. “Nuha is like Racing, very humble, but in the field the face is split, it’s what we want, his attitude is what is going to give us the permanence, it’s nice that a player gets excited when you call him. Finally, the Racing will play this Wednesday which will be his first friendly against the Cultural in the Cantabrian town of Guarnizo, from 19:30 hours.
For his part, Nuha Marong expressed delights for signing the deal, noting that when Racing came calling, he did not look back because they are a club with good history
“I was happy to stop in Santander and could not hide. When they called me Chuti and Iván Ania I did not look at one more offer, I come to a historic club, for me it has been a dream”.
At the time of defining himself as a footballer, Nuha assured that “I am a fast striker, I also like to fall into space, jump for the balls up and technically, if you have to play down, you also play, I have no problem”.
