The Publicity and Information secretary of the National Reconciliation Party (NRP),Pateh Baldeh, has called on all Gambians to practice politics with tolerance.

Baldeh made this call at Jarra Soma in the Lower River Regional during the NRP national congress, where he delivered his welcoming address to party militants.

He said The Gambia under the present government is realising true democratic system of government, and therefore, Gambians should use the opportunity available to them to accept each other’s political differences and be ready to accommodate others.

Politics, he said, is about different ideas but it does not make us become enemies. He used the occasion to thank the party leadership for hosting the congress in the Lower River Region.

“The party does not belong to a single tribe in this country,” he said. “It belongs to all and each person’s opinion is respected when it comes to discussion to make the party effective.”

He added that the party leadership never works in isolation as it consults the militants.

According to the NRP Publicity and Information secretary, the party leader is humble and listens to people’s opinions.
