Nominations are invited for the position of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) president effective August 20 and due to close on 27 August 2014, according to a press release issued by the Normalisation Committee last evening.
The election, according to the release signed by Ba S. Jabbi, a member of the Normalisation Committee, is set to take place on 20 September 2014.
The release quoted Article 41.3 of the GFF constitution that: “Only members of the GFF may propose candidates for the office of the President.”
It added: “Members shall notify General Secretary in writing of the names of a candidate for the Presidency of GFF at least one (1) month before the date of the General Assembly.”
The Normalisation Committee of the Gambia Football Federation shall serve as the electoral board of the said elections, added the release, which concluded by urging all members of the GFF to cope with the Normalisation Committee to ensure they have a successful process to the election.
