Journalists for Women and Cultural Advancement (NoGJWCA) The Gambia, Monday
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Center for Arts
and Culture (NCAC).
The objective of the MoU is to foster closer ties between the media and NCAC in promoting culture both at national and international levels. The two parties hoped to work collaboratively to standardize cultural practices that would enable The Gambia to preserve its rich cultural heritage.
National Center for Arts and Culture director of Copyright Hassoum Ceesay thanked members of NoGJWCA for signing the MoU with them, calling it a good move in cultural and heritage promotion in The Gambia and the sub-region.
Mr. Ceesay said NCAC wants to work with NoGJWCA to put forward cultural and heritage issues in the forefront to ensure effective coverage. He said there are lots of happenings in the culture sector. “So, we hope that with this cooperation we would build a very strong network of reporters in the culture sector.”
Pateh Baldeh, NoGJWCA president expressed gratitude and appreciation to the NCAC for making the agreement possible.
Baldeh acknowledged that they have received positive responds from NCAC over the past years and they have been closely working with them. “However, we expect that as we agreed today and everything is in place, our doors will remain open and anytime you need our services, we would work as a team.”
